A rescue home for 20 abused children

Help us finish our Rescue Home for abused children

“Police should make us a home where we can be taken which doesn’t look like a prison, where there are Children like me and with no police officers”.
16 year old abused girl

Noah’s Ark partners with the local police who rescue children from high crisis and unsafe situations where many have been sexually and physically abused. Upon arrival they receive medical care, nutritious meals, and trauma counselling to enable them to be resettled with their families as the final goal.

These children are currently being integrated with the Noah’s Ark family children. At the time of resettlement and departure, all children are affected emotionally. The most ideal solution is to build a stand-alone rescue house which will enable focused attention, a resettlement strategy with the resources to help these children heal.

Roger’s Story

Roger (age 11) was found at the NACMU gate by one of our guards seriously burnt on the legs with an injury on the face caused by his elder brother for theft as a punishment. Being that he was undergoing treatment at our facility plus the fact that his case was under investigation, Rogers had to spend 2 months at NACMU until his case was settled and handed back to his parents after rehabilitation and recovery.

Roger’s siblings were brought to the Organization after they had run away from home due to the mistreatment brought about by their stepmother while their father was away. The Children were temporarily placed at NACMU as further investigations were going on. One of those Children was quoted, ‘I wish we don’t go back home because, here the Children are loved, given enough food and they are not beaten’’. Because we believe Children thrive better with their parents, we had to work towards resettling them.

Their step mom after being released on police bond and father are still undergoing sessions on childcare as well as educating them on the responsibilities of the parents by our social workers. Those Children were handed back to the father after 25 days and were given mosquito nets to prevent malaria.

Roger is only one of many children that come to Noah’s Ark. Your help will change their life forever.
